La Trobe Lifeskills commenced at La Trobe University in 1998. Since then we have grown from a very small organisation providing programs for approximately 5 people with disabilities per day, to a point where we now have between 65-70 people attending daily.
We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing a growing range of accredited courses, such as: Certificate I in Transition Education; Certificate I in Work Education; Certificate I in Business; Certificate I in Hospitality (Operations); Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations); Certificate I in Retail Operations, as well as a range of day programs which include: recreation and leisure activities; art and craft options (including art exhibitions); music and drama; independent living training; involvement in community projects; work training and support; annual events e.g. a camp, formal dinner dance etc.
We are based at the Bundoora Campus of La Trobe University, which means that participants can take full advantage of campus life plus being a part of the University community and the activities that occur at this location.
We also utilise teaching facilities on the University campus, including the sports centre (SARA), computer laboratories and the University radio station.
We invite you to come and visit us, and see for yourself, our facilities as well as the happy faces of those who attend La Trobe Lifeskills.
