About

We believe that ‘life skills’ is about more than learning domestic skills and figuring out how to get from A to B. At Latrobe Lifeskills, you’ll have the opportunity to follow your interests so that you can enjoy your life, socialise, make friends and most importantly, have fun!
Lifeskills Participants enjoy the benefits of accessing La Trobe University’s world-class facilities including computer labs, sports centre, classrooms, workshop and media hub at the Bundoora and Bendigo campuses.

From the CEO

We are pleased that you have joined or returned to us! Since the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rolled out, Lifeskills has assisted many Participants to achieve their goals and we look forward to helping you with yours. NDIS has given people greater choice and control with their funding and service options. Thus, Lifeskills is here to support you in reaching your potential.
While we often work directly with you, background work occurs where Lifeskills would work in conjunction with families, carers, allied health workers, and professionals to ensure your needs are understood and supported. This is only possible with your permission, as you are encouraged to exercise your rights, and responsibilities as an individual. At the same time, Lifeskills has guidelines within this booklet that you must abide by for everyone’s wellbeing and enjoyment of our service.
We place you at the core of our practices. We aim to grow your life skills, provide educational outcomes, help you with choice and control over the activities of your choosing, build on independence, provide opportunities to increase your social circles and build friendships with your peers. Many of these skills, experiences and knowledge will take time to cultivate, hence our diverse staff ranks are always available to you whilst at Lifeskills.
Our committed staff are highly qualified, experienced, and subject matter experts. Most importantly they serve as positive role models, are approachable and respectful individuals. Many of the activities that you will experience are based on Participant feedback, and are co-designed alongside yourselves. Lifeskills frequently reviews and sends out surveys during the year, so please do not shy from making recommendations to help us support you better.
The Management Team comprising Tammy (Participant Support Manager), Daniel (Finance Manager) and Jacqui (Communications, Marketing and Administration Manager) are available should you need assistance from their respective areas.
Finally, part of my work is to ensure that your time at our service is valuable, enjoyable, productive and most importantly safe. My door is always open, and I am certain we will have many opportunities to talk in person across both Bundoora and Bendigo campuses. I seek for Lifeskills a constant journey to better our approach, increase our offerings, and provide tailored support to your needs.
